Restoring Michigan's Greatness
This is personal.
It is about the kind of future we are building for our kids and grandkids.
The Governor and Legislature are taking us down a road that ends in mediocrity: middle-of-the-pack public schools and universities, lower incomes for
middle-class families and a compromised quality of life.
I want my grandchildren to have the same opportunity to excel that I had. The foundation for that opportunity is education. Michigan needs and deserves K-12 and college systems that strive for excellence.
The solution requires a willingness to invest in what works. We're happy to do that when it comes to MSU athletics. We support hiring the very best coaches, having the first-class facilities and utilizing 21st-century technology for the teams. The payoff speaks for itself: championships, big profits for the athletic department and higher contributions to the University.
We need the same mindset for the rest of Michigan: seeking to be the very best whether we're talking about our education system, our median income or the overall quality of life in Pure Michigan.
That's why I'm running for the Legislature: to restore Michigan to the top, rather than settling for something less.
